Pam: Kerri, your holier-than-thou attitude is a lot of things, but enlightened it is not. You, my dear, as a self-righteous PROTESTANT, are in no position to berate others for their beliefs. My beliefs are in the faith the Christ founded, not one founded in the 17th century on the toddler-esque temper tantrums of a man in northern Europe or on a version of the Bible created in 1611 and authorized by a homosexual. Get over yourself.

Sam I Am: Hey, look at Jeremiah Wright, pastor of Obama's church. I am sure that he thinks that he is teaching the Bible correctly. Kerri, are you saying that you are the only Protestant who has interpreted the Bible right? Pam is right. It is all up to personal interpretation in Protestantism.
Pam: P.S. "My" Church is that established by Jesus Christ in 33 AD. Yours was founded less than 400 years ago and is definitely full of "man made" traditions as very few of your beliefs and interpretation of the Holy Scriputres agree with the early church.
Pam: Kerri, of course there is an interpretation problem. Just look at the plethora of feuding protty sects. Are you saying that you and those that agree 100% you are the only true Christians? Come on! Quick looking down your nose at people who read the Bible and do exactly what you do -- interpret it for themselves. You are a fallible human with little knowledge of the faith. You interpretation is just that -- YOUR. INTERPRETATION. Mine just agrees with that of the very earliest of Christians
Kerri: Pam, there isn't any interpretation necessary for those verses - they mean what they say. The problem is that your church can not support what it believes UNLESS they can make those verses and others mean something else.

Kerri: I could go on and on with verse after verse. (Eph 2:8-9)(Rom.8:1) and many more. You may believe what some men have said, but what about what God said?
Kerri: God had John record Jesus' words, Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Your church certainly doesn't believe the promise of that verse. It promises present possession of eternal salvation.
Kerri: God had John write - 1Jo 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life - also read 11-12 The Catholic church doesn't believe a person can KNOW they are saved.
Kerri: Really Pam? lets see.. 1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; The Lord had Paul say there was ONE mediator and it wasn't Mary - it was JESUS

Pam: Kerri, I am reading what the Bible says. So do the members of the thouands of feuding Christian sects out there. It all comes down to INTERPRETATION. Mine is the same as that of the earliest members of the church. Yours? Well ...
Kerri: Sam, I will trust the written Word of God that He has preserved for us as He promised to do and the leading of the Holy Spirit. 1 John 2:27 I am not looking at "my" interpretation - I am looking at what the Bible says. Read the post I have up now and see what I mean.
Sam I Am: Kerri, you DO realize that the early Church fathers were hand-taught by the very writers of the New Testament, do you not? I am positive that they would know better what the writers meant than, say, a protester of the church in the year 2008. I trust their interpretations and ideas much better than that of a closed minded Baptist any day.
Pam: Kerri, Nay, the church was here before your KJV of the Bible. You, my dear, are a believer in "man made traditions." Catholics are members of the only Church established by Christ. Good gracious -- TAKE. A. HISTORY. CLASS.
Kerri: Pam, you can say what you want - I only posted it for you - I have no need or confidence in your so called church fathers. Man errs - God doesn't. Ps 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. Your church is built on the shifting sands of man's traditions and opinions. That will fail. Jesus Christ, the ROCK, will not fail!

Kerri: I feel sorry for you both. You mock, but one day you will not. As I said I frankly don't care about the "church fathers" - I care about what the Bible says. If anyone wants to check out my link they will find what the Bible says about getting rid of sin.

Pam: Kerri, oh Kerri, you link about the early church believing in Sola Scriptura is, please pardon the language, bull shit. The author clearly has an anti-Catholic bias based on ignorance. It takes comments from the Church Fathers out of context (one must read the complete writings of the early church) and places them on a pedestal. There was no "New Testament" or a Christian Bible for 400 years so to say that that early church believed in Sola Scriptura is downright asinine!

Kerri: You may also want to read this link on a 6 day creation. It is enough for me the Bible says the evening and the morning were the first day etc, but I know you like all the other stuff.
Kerri: I was looking at some things on creation when I found this page on early church fathers and scripture that you might want to check out. I personally just need the scriptures but you might find what the page says interesting - the writer has heard your claims that is for sure.
Kerri: Mainly just curious. You answered about like I expected you to. I too have known Bapt. who believe evolution, but as I said before, being bapt. doesn't mean anything - I know a good many Bapt who are lost and going to Hell. Whether Bapt. Pentacostal, Catholic whatever - if it disagrees with the Bible it is wrong.
Pam: Well, of course I do, Kerri. I might add that I know many Baptists who believe in evolution (my A.P. Biology teacher in high school, who was the wife of a Baptist preacher, was an adament supporter of Darwin's theory) and I know Baptists who believe the flood was a parasble, not an actual event. Why do you ask?
Kerri: Do you believe that the story of Noah and the flood was talking about a literal world wide flood that covered every mountain in the world and destroyed all life on earth except Noah and his family?
Pam: The Bible supports evolution, in a sense, Kerri. Do I believe in Darwin's theory? No, but do I believe the God created earth in six, 24-hour days? No. That's human time, not God's. We are told in the Old Testament that a day to God is like thousands of years to us. What's your query now?
Kerri: I'm curious about something I was told. Do you believe in a literal six day creation or do you believe in evolution?I would like to hear your answer and any of your friends.

Kerri: Spiritually we receive by faith not physically - John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Kerri: Pam, we are cleansed from our sins by the blood of Jesus, the blood He applied to the mercy seat in Heaven. We are given eternal life when we turn from our sin, believe God and trust the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour - NOT when we eat a wafer and drink wine. We receive Jesus as Saviour by faith - List to the Word of Christ.

Pam: Kerri, the eucharist is the flesh and blood of Christ. Read up on it with *reputable* sites and information. You rely to heavily on biased information. Talk to a priest. Read the works of Scott Hahn. Those are places where you'll get reliable information. And no, adoring the flesh and blood of Christ is not idolatry, as that very blood saved us from eternal damnation.
Kerri: Pam, it isn't just the extreme ones I am looking at as an example of how wrong it is. I found a Rom. Cath. page that described the adoration of the Eucharist as the presense of Christ - Pam, that is no different than worshipping images as God, as forbidden in Deu 4- it is idolatrous.
Karen: I almost forgot. I have a baby gift for you. When are you due again?

Pam: Oh, Kerri. Of course there are others! Satan has been trying to destroy Christ's Church since its inception. He will never succeed, though. Christ promised. The church is full of good and bad people. No church is full of saints alone. And no, asking your over and over and over to be respectful or face the consequences is not censorship. You just need to learn to control your tongue and be a little more respectful.
Kerri: Pam, That news article is just one example of what I am saying. There are others, but you would ignore them also. RCC is not disrectful it is a simpler way of writing Roman Catholic church. You are looking for an excuse that you can condone and not call it censureship.

Pam: Are you serious? That is your basis? (And that isn't the link you left for Jeff and I.) I suppose I could villify all Baptists thanks to the married preacher who raped a woman in the Upstate a few years ago. The actions of a few do not represent the faith, Kerri. Try again. But Fox News? Even as a conservative I know that Fox news is a joke! So, what is the real reason that you hate Catholicism?
Kerri: In fact the other one was fox news also, I just went and looked the same as the link to this one. You may not like what it says, but it is the news.
Kerri: I don't believe that Fox news is a "anti-catholic" site and here is a link to the article also. It is simple news. and the fact that some RCC members got upset enough over a wafer to threathen death is just reported news. It also is idolatrous.

Final Bravenet Blog Post

I have been with Bravenet for a long time and plan to keep my account here because I use their other services, too.

However, I have found another blog server (Google) that is easier to use. It has better features and better archiving options.

I have added a new tagboard there and enabled the comments section for everyone. The archives here will stay open, but I will also be copying some of the posts here to the new place. It will take a while, but it will get done. I am on bedrest now (see the new blog for information) so the process should speed up dramatically.

Please come over and visit the new place, leave a shout out on the tag board, and/or leave a comment.  I really do not expect to check in over here very often anymore, so any tags or comments left here after I post this final post might not been seen for months.

Yes, Kerri, that includes you.   You might even like the better features over there and make the move, too.
